What’s the IDP Review?

The existing Municipal District of Rocky View/City of Calgary Intermunicipal Development Plan (IDP) was adopted in 1998. The IDP includes policy requiring periodic review of the plan. The fundamental purpose of the Rocky View/City of Calgary IDP is to identify areas of mutual interest, as well as establish policy direction and processes for intermunicipal collaboration.

A second round of focus group sessions will be held at the beginning of March. Individuals representing governmental and non-governmental organizations, development organizations, community associations and landowners who previously stated an interest in participating have been invited to these focus group sessions.

The discussion at both focus group sessions will be directed towards gaining feedback on joint planning areas and growth corridors and on how key areas from the November 2008 focus group sessions were addressed in the draft plan.
