Public Engagement Process
Focus Groups
Two focus group sessions have been conducted as part of the current Intermunicipal Development Plan review. The first focus group meeting was held on November 12, 2008. The focus group attendees included governmental and non-governmental organizations. The second focus group meeting was held on November 25, 2008. The attendees of this focus group meeting included development organizations, community associations and landowners who previously stated an interest in participating. Both focus groups identified issues and areas for improvement within our current IDP and the study area, these discussions will inform our policy review. A second round of focus group consultation occurred in November 2010. The same attendees were invited to this session and were given an opportunity to review the plan and ask any questions that they had.
Public Open House
Two public open houses were held in November 2010. The public open houses included a presentation and a group question and answer period. That allowed all public members in attendance to participate in the conversation surrounding the draft plan.
